Smuttynose Really Old Brown Dog - I’ll stick to just regular Old Brown Dog. Love the photo of Olive on the beach though.
Smuttynose Finestkind IPA - It’s always great to find a readily available, drinkable, great beer. This one certainly falls in to the category of what took me so long to try this? If I could always find it fresh it would probably compete with Flower Power for my favorite locally available daily drinker.
No luck finding Sixpoint Resin or the new Dogfish Head beers, but I did pick up a 2012 bottle of Smuttynose Baltic Porter for a reasonable $6.49. Some of the highlights from the shops below.

Jolly Farmer (Waverly, NY) - Still had Firestone Walker XV ($21), Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Brooklyn Black Ops ($22?), a couple different Great Divide Yeti variants. Apparently they’ve had a recent shipment from Horseheads as well as the recent release of the IPA was on the shelves along with the regulars. A couple bottles of Horseheads Christmas were still there too.
On the downside I noticed some very old (6+ months) bottles of Troegs Perpetual IPA still around, which is one of the downfalls of the out of the way places.
Lewis Bros Market (Horseheads, NY) - Like usual the main highlight is the older Ithaca Excelsior bottles. Since the last time I visited they’ve finally sold the remaining Ithaca Eleven, but there’s still a decent amount of Twelve and Thirteen left. I debated picking up a final bottle of Thirteen, but I had it on draft at Ithaca Ale House when we were there about a month ago. Other surprises still on the shelves included Great Lakes Blackout Stout and at least one 6 pack of Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
So not a great trip from the beer perspective, but we were going through the area anyway and I got to bring home Callear’s BBQ.
