Rock Art The Vermonster - The best beer I’ve had from Rock Art by a fair margin which isn’t really saying much considering how disappointing the other experiences have been. I expected this to be hoppier, but I really have no gauge for how long it sat on the shelf. Overall a drinkable, but average barleywine.

Hill Farmstead Juicy - This was very good. Didn’t really notice any differences from the bottle I opened in November. The dregs from this bottle went straight into the carboy - hopefully that wild Greensboro yeast was still vital.

Hill Farmstead Arthur - Is this my favorite beer? It’s certainly very close to the top of the list, especially for non-hoppy styles. Enough tartness to make it interesting without losing balance. Would love to grab a bunch of these in the future.

Grassroots Brewing Convivial Suarez - Developing nicely. Had a lot more brett character than I remember from the 1st bottle in March. Really happy I have enough of these to track how they develop over the next couple years.

Homebrew Homework - The plan for today is to brew another saison using some of the yeast from the last batch and bottle dregs from some Hill Farmstead bottles. So for the past few days I’ve been working through these bottles.

The Alchemist Heady Topper - At 7 weeks old it’s still better than 99% of the stuff out there.

Hill Farmstead Fear and Trembling - “…continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling…” The smoked malt is very nicely balanced here, I had been concerned it might be overpowering. I should have known better when dealing with HF.

Switchback Ale - A Vermont craft beer staple, but let’s be honest, this doesn’t come anywhere close to the Hill Farmstead / Alchemist / Lawson’s level or even the Fiddlehead / Trapp / Zero Gravity quality. If I was living in an isolated, mountainside home I could see enjoying this, but otherwise it’s probably one and done.

Lawson’s Finest Liquids Double Sunshine IPA - Still good, but certainly feels like this is falling off faster than Heady Topper and even the growlers from Hill Farmstead.
